Saygun Quartet was founded in Budapest in 2025 by violist Mevsim Engin, who is pursuing doctoral research on the viola concerto of Ahmet Adnan Saygun, while also focusing on bringing his string quartets to life and expanding their international recognition. The Turkish–Hungarian Saygun Quartet unites leading musicians and distinguished soloists from Hungary and Türkiye, with the aim of forging a vibrant cultural bridge between the two countries.

The quartet’s artistic focus lies in shaping thoughtfully curated programs that connect historical legacy with present-day perspectives, placing particular emphasis on chamber music as a space for dialogue, depth, and collective expression. Alongside its concert activity, the Saygun Quartet considers research and education integral to its mission, actively engaging with academic inquiry, contemporary creation, and pedagogical projects.

Through its performances and educational initiatives, the Saygun Quartet aims to bring this cross-cultural conversation to international audiences, contributing to a broader understanding of music as a shared cultural language beyond borders.
